About the event
The route takes a direct path up to the summit of the magnificent Hedgehope, the second highest summit in the Cheviots and offering fantastic 360 degree views. On the way you’ll pass the rugged Cunyan Crags, fight through the bogs of Dunmoor and finally climb the rocks near the top to reach the summit. To finish things off you may well be dumped into the tropical Breamish river if it is not in spate. All just to clean your shoes of course.
The area was cherished and documented by local farmer Sarah Wilson who passed away not so long ago, leaving her son and husband to carry on farming in Ingram. The Sarah Wilson cup will be the prize on offer. The event takes part at the Valley Cottage Cafe in Ingram and you’ll be doing your bit to improve the local economy whilst taking part in this slightly mad run.
This is an ideal opportunity to take on an extreme event in the knowledge that a safety team will be on hand with specialist medics, atv’s, 4×4’s and personnel to keep an eye on you. Tents will line the route and a communications system allowing quick escalation procedures. All you need to do is get out there and run!
